Chapter 10... Thrown To the Wolves
I joined the security guards on deck six as they escorted Lieutenant Ainsworth to what she thought would be crew quarters. "What's gonna happen to us?" she asked.
"I don't know." I replied. "That's up to Commander St. Esprit, but Starfleet has given him full power to do whatever he sees fit to continue with the mission." 'Assuming there still is one.' I thought.
"To be honest," Charolette began. "I'm glad you stopped us."
I looked up at her with surprise.
"Even though I had no idea what we... they were making me do, I wouldn't have been able to look at myself in the mirror without seeing all those lives that were lost as a result."
"You could've stopped." I said. "Why didn't you?"
Charolette looked at me. "I couldn't betray David. Not after all he's done for me." Charolette stopped in her tracks. "Wait a minute, we're going the wrong way." She said.
"No we're not." I said stepping through the doors to Marisa's lab where she and Pr

Chapter 9... Breaking all the rules
Marisa's voice was frantically cracking the comm as I met the senior staff on the bridge. "I'm not sure but it looks like Praak died of oxegen deprivation and heat exaustion." she reported.
"What about the yellow substance you found on the wall?" Justin asked.
"Give me a minute." I heard the faint bleeping of Marisa's tricorder over the comm and a sudden ping. "It's blood." She said. We all exchanged glances across the bridge. "It's Insectoid Xindi blood. The DNA is indentical to that of the one Commander Nussbaum shot."
"How long has it been there?" I asked.
"About a month."
I turned to look at Justin. "But that would suggest the assault on Nussbaum was staged." I said.
"I know that." Marisa said. "But the question is why."
Justin sat on the information he was given for a bitand thought over his next decision. "Marisa I want you to high-tail it back to Messiah." Justin said. "And look over any logs, any data, any sticky-notes yo

Chapter 8... Suspicions
"I dunno what happened." Nussbaum said as Polaris' Doctor Abagail Kelley patched up his nasty headwound. "Some freak-show attacked me from behind. He was fast, but he was big too. I-OW! I think I got off a few shots at him with my phaser."
"Still no idea who or what is was?" Justin asked.
"I said freak-show." Vasily repeated. Justin's face was blank. He obviously didn't know First Fleet slang.
"Freak-show, Boss," I began. "Refers to non-humanoid aliens."
"Oh." He said as the doors leaving sickbay opened with Will stepping through. "What's the word?" Justin asked.
"We think we found the guy who attacked Commander Nussbaum." Will said.
"And?" I ask.
"Well he's dead."
Justin and I glanced at eachother.
"I trust you still have the body." Doctor Kelley asked...reluctently.
"Yes, ma'am." Will said poking his head out the doorway. "Roll him in, boys." He said and two redshirts, one pushing an Insectoid Xindi on a stretcher and the other standing gu

So here's where the story kicks off. After the Klingon moon Praxis went 'ka-boom' in 2293, that was three years ago, the Klingons decided that they couldn't afford any more conflict with the Federation after it just lost one of their key energy production facilities. There was some arguement on that point, on both sides of the line, so a coup was put together to assassinate the President and Chacellor, but luckily, Enterprise was there to stop it from happening with some help from Excelsior. There are still some leftovers from the coup that are trying to disrupt the Khitomer Accords. So our job is pretty simple, to suppress Klingon Terrorist operations up and down the Neautral Zone. Wish us luck.
