Robert Wraith ch-3

Chapter 3... Love and Pizza

     The scene dissolves to a pizzeria on the highway at a shopping plaza at sunset. We see Robert walk into the establishment.

Robert voiceover: This is Panini's. My neighbor Jay owns it after his boss moved to live with his daughter in New York. It was also the place where I took Marisa on our first date, at least I think it was a date. If not then that time I asked took "Spider-man 3" to her house was.

Its interior had a warm atmosphere and modern architecture. There is a large group table that should be in the corner of the resteraunt but instead is in the middle of the building where we see William sitting in his casual clothes: a Lengend of Zelda t-shirt with tri-force symbol and the same sweater from school plus the same cargo shorts and sneakers plus a pair of black fingerless gloves. Robert was in his casual cloths too. He was wearing a red t-shirt underneath a black short sleeved overshirt plus his favored jeans and a chain sticking from his back pocket where his wallet is and a pair of blue lensed sun glasses that say "I'm made of money." when he really isn't.

robert: (sits with his friend) Hey.
Will: Hey.
Robert: I guess I lived a little farther than I thought.
Will: It's a bitch ain't it?
Robert: You can say that again.
Will: (pints to the door) Hey check it out.
Robert: What? (turns around to look over his shoulder to see Marisa out he school cloths. The only time he ever saw her like that was on their first date at Panini's. She was wearing a crimson red hoodie with the sleeves pushed up to her shoulders showing the long black sleeves of her shirt underneath plus the same bracelets and sneakers but with an older pair of black jeans.
Marisa: (sits with robert and Will) Hey guys. (notces Robert's stoed expression) Knock, knock. The light's on but no one's home.
Robert: (chuckles) It's just I haven't seen you outta school in a while.
Marisa: (blushes) You really like my outfit?
Robert: I find the fact that you like to wear dark colors over a hooded sweater exteremly sexy.
Marisa: (remains silent)
Robert: (blushes) That was weird.
Waitress: (walks up) Hey Robert.
Robert: Hey Ashley.
Ashley: The usual?
Robert: Hang on. (to his friends) You guys okay with cheese? 'Cause we can get pepperoni if that's what you want.
Will: Pepperoni.
Marisa: Pepperoni.
Robert: What they said.
Ashley: One large pepperoni pizza for three juniors comin' up. (as she walks behind Marisa to the counter, she points to Robert and Marisa mouthing the words) 'You and her...' (does a heart shape with her fingers.)
Robert: (mouths) 'I hope.'
Marisa: What?
Robert: Nothing, nothing.
Robert voiceover: (as Marisa talks about a something but you can't hear it over the voiceover) You wanna hear something sad? Every time someone says that Marisa and I are destined to be together, I feel the same way but I can't grow the balls to tell her that. Just the fact that I'm afraid to tell I love her is fucking sad! I have as big a crush on her as Richard Fletcher did but I'm just better at hiding it.

Richard: (walking with Marisa in middle school) Will you go out with me?
Marisa: No.
At lunch carrying his tray with her.
Richard: Will you go out with me?
Marisa: No.
Richard: (pops out of her locker) Will you go out with me?
Marisa: (pause) No. (slams the locker in his face)

Robert voiceover: At least he enough balls to be persistant about it. As for me, it's one shot. If I miss, pff, I'm out and I move on...at least until the lonelynes catches up with me a few years later. Marisa wasn't my first girlfriend, back in preschool I remember a girl named Britiny, I always tried to impress her with a little bit of goofy charm but then we had to move to Florida. Then there were these three other girls in kindergarden and 1st grade, Stephinie who though she was all that, Katelyn who soon grew tired of me, and then there was the girl I actually liked, Haily Grahm Bell, she was the neice of the p.e. teacher Coach Bell who was actually a real nice guy. I went to her house once and it was nice. She showed me her Barbie and Ken dolls and I was Ken. Then in 3rd through 5th grade, Anna Trinci, her picture still burnt into my mind, shor blonde hair, pretty blue eyes and a great fashion sense unlike me at the time 'cause I didn't really care what I was wearing and she kissed me on the cheek, a girl kissed me. She stole my heart, only to tear it apart half way through the year. I would never fall in love again. Then I was in middle school and found a few girls I liked but never had the guts to ask them what their names even were, except for Victoria who seemed like a nice girl, mid-length red hair and green eyes, she was the funny one, never actually was friends with her though. Then I met Marisa a year later ad my heart was ready to give it one more try at getting a girlfriend. Some guys say I was a real pimp back in the day, guess I lost my edge over the passed six to seven years.
Robert: Sounds like a good idea, I'll bring my Gibson controller.
Will: Dude, you were the guitar player last time.
Robert: Alright then the Hofner.
Will: There you go. I wanna be the singer.
Marisa: Then I'll do drums.
Robert: I always wanted to see you play drums.
Marisa: Really?
Robert: I think a girl who plays drums is hot.
Marisa: ...
Will: Ugh, enough with awkard silences already!
Robert's cell phone rings with a Beatles ringtone. The song "Help!"
Robert: (reads the caller I.D. and it says "Mom".) I gotta take this. (awnsers the phone) Yeah mom?
Stacy: (over the phone) Hey. Listen as soon as you finish playing around...
Robert: HANGING around.
Stacy: Whatever. Listen Kenn sent you some of your grandpa Bob's stuff and he wants you to see it.
Robert: Alright, we'l be there.
Stacy: Alone.
Robert: What?
Stacy: It says "For your eyes only."
Robert: Lemme finish my pizza first and I'll be there in fifteen minutes.
Stacy: Alright honey, lovbe you.
Robert: (sighs) Love you too mom. Bye. (hangs up when Ashley comes with the pizza)
Will: Ooh finally! (takes a peice and crams in his mouth with Robertand MArisa looking with their eyes widened in anima style. with his mouth full) What? I haven't eaten all day! Okay?
